2021 Caleb Kenney has continued to see an uptick in his recruitment this summer and he breaks down the latest with us at Phenom Hoops.  What are his thoughts on the latest offers and his development in his game'  Furthermore, is he hoping to make his final decision soon'

He discusses it all with us.

Summer improvements

Kenney has been able to capitalize on the summer so far, with coaches coming his way in his recruitment but also looking to improve in areas of his game.  Overall though, he would say that it has gone well, as he constantly is looking to grow and progress his game.

'I've been in the gym a lot working out and improving my game and I've had numerous opportunities to play games and stay sharp,' he told Phenom Hoops. '(I've been) working on making my ball-handling tighter and improving the consistency of my three-point shot. Those have been two areas that I've been emphasizing in my workouts.'

Recruitment picking up

Since April, Kenney has picked up offers from North Florida, Fairmont State, Millersville, Sam Houston State, Morgan State, Holy Cross, Hampton, and IUPUI. He has been thankful for all the opportunities that have been given to him and he feels that it has been a result of all the hard work he has put in and continues to put in.

IUPUI was the latest offer, one he certainly appreciates.  'They are in the Horizon League, a mid-major Division I conference which means that it is going to be competitive,' he said about the offer from them.  'I had several good conversations with the staff.  They shared that they had seen me in several livestream events recently and that my style of play fits their program.'

Holy Cross, Hampton, and Morgan State have all joined in his recruitment in the last two weeks as well. But he is excited about all of the opportunities that have been given to him.

'(I'm) extremely excited for all of the opportunities that have been placed before me, such a diversified list of schools that would benefit me both academically and athletically. Academics is my first priority, so an opportunity to play basketball while receiving a great education is a huge blessing.'

As far as other schools expressing interest, schools like Air Force, Longwood, The Citadel, Cornell, Central Connecticut, and Niagara, with Cornell, Air Force, and The Citadel expressing the strongest interest his way.

What is he looking for and decision coming soon'

In speaking with Kenney, he mentioned that he would be meeting with his high school coach, AAU coach, and his father, in hopes of having a definitive date on or before November 15.

So, what is he looking for'

'A place where I'm going to be challenged to become a better young man and player and where my game is going to continue to grow.  A place where I'll be able to be encouraged to utilize my versatility on both ends of the floor.'
