The Winter Nationals with Phenom Hoops is one of the best events to start the season because we not only kick off the travel ball season in a big way, but we also get a chance to see the future around the country. So many players came through the doors this past weekend and left a lasting impression, as we dive in and break down many of their games.
The Carolina Culture program has certainly brought us several new names to keep track of in years past and this past weekend at Winter Nationals, they brought us a new prospect that will be on our watch list. 2028 6’7 Mamoudou Mamadi from Carolina Culture and played at Trinity Christian is a player that grabs your attention. Even though he is still raw with his overall feel, there are a lot of factors in his game in which you can see true potential.
Bigs usually are prospects that take more time to develop, but you have to see the early factors in one’s game. Mamadi brings fluidity, big-time length and wingspan, and understands how to be effective without being a strong offensive presence. He rebounds well, keeps the ball high, and uses his length to alter shots and be disruptive. Now again, this is just the start for this young man and he has a ways to go in developing his offensive game. But he made a name for himself this past weekend at Winter Nationals, and he should be on more radars in the coming years.
