Another year of high school basketball is coming up quickly here in North Carolina, which only means there are going to be new names coming onto the scene quickly and certainly ones you will want to learn about. One player that has really captured eyes this summer and I find personally intriguing to watch is 2022 Spencer Hairston.

Hairston, who comes from Virginia, will be playing at Dudley this year and could be a name that you hear quite often if he continues to show just what he has this summer with the Gate City Grizzlies. He first played at Magna Vista his freshman and sophomore year before going to Martinsville, but unfortunately, the season was canceled. Now, the guard has been putting up some outstanding numbers, filling up the boxscore and showing just how dangerous he can be offensively with his game. If you have missed what has been said, here is a little of what you have missed:

'This young man simply continues to produce and be an offensive scoring machine. Which is why he should be one to really watch coming into North Carolina and playing at Dudley this season. He has the quickness and ability to create for himself but he can be deadly from the perimeter. Scored 29 points to lead the charge again, something he has shown quite often.' – Patrick O'Brien

'Spencer is simply put, a bucket getter. He torched the nets this weekend, starting off with a 42-point performance Friday night that included 10 threes. He followed that up with 34 and 24 points the next two games on Saturday. He's got such a smooth stroke, looks like it's going in every time and most of the misses I saw were rim-outs. Couldn't be left alone because he's basically within range after crossing half-court.' – Ethan Reece

'Hairston is one of those guys who is going to get his. He can score at will on all three levels. The crafty guard can break a defender down off the dribble and finish at the rim, or knock down the one-dribble pull-up. He has a nice jump shot and isn't afraid to fire from distance. He has an impressive range and can shoot off the dribble or the catch.' – Heath Gulledge

As one can see, Hairston has been an absolute bucket every time he has stepped on the court, using his speed to his advantage, creating extremely well for himself, finishing around the basket, and really showing his perimeter game in knocking down shots from outside. Coming into Dudley this year, Hairston could quickly help replace some o the scoring power that the Panthers last season, so he is one to watch around the area for sure.
