Phenom Hoops continues to bring you new names that you will want to get to know sooner rather than later.  We had a chance to view several incoming freshmen at the CP3 Rising Stars and we are bringing you another name to remember.  2026 6'7 Tyris Crowell is another young prospect that can make his presence felt in the paint and operates comfortably down low.  He understands how to impact the game on both sides and should only continue to develop as a forward.

We recently spoke to Crowell to learn more about his experience and his game.

Phenom: How did your summer go overall'
Crowell: I was playing with Drive Nation first before they canceled the tournaments, so I just ended up playing with teams that picked me up each weekend. I wanted to show more on the court my communication with my teammates more.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court'
Crowell: I feel like my game is evolving pretty well. Move the ball well, I have a soft touch on my jumper, I can move with or without the ball, and can finish.  My comfort zone is definitely in the paint, protecting it and calling out screens to my teammates and stuff.  I can rebound and clean up the rim really well.

Phenom: How have you been looking to improve your game'
Crowell: I have been working more on my form from the outside key. I need to get my ball handling better, that is a big key and just working on my all-around game getting better.

Phenom: Is there a player you model your game after'
Crowell: I take my game after Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic.

Phenom: What is your excitement about this upcoming high school season' What are you hoping to help provide your team'
Crowell: I want to help my team get more competitive and I want to push them the best they can be. I'm at every practice, game, and workout.  My excitement about this upcoming season is to play with the older guys and dominate.

Phenom: How was your experience in playing at the CP3 camp'
Crowell: I enjoyed it a lot, a new experience playing with people I didn't know and it showed me how to be more versatile on the court.
