Phenom Hoops continues to bring you new names that you will want to get to know sooner rather than later. We had a chance to view several incoming freshmen at the CP3 Rising Stars and we are bringing you another name to remember. 2026 Jason Johnson Jr. from Minnesota is a young point guard who helped the Tigers last year, as they are coming off an 18-7 overall record. Johnson is a dynamic guard that can score, be a playmaker, find his teammates, and can make his presence felt on the defensive end. He could be a name to watch out for in the area.

We recently spoke to Johnson to learn more about his experience and his game.

Game Breakdown:

“I would say I’m a true point guard that looks to get teammates involved. I like to operate out of the pick and roll, so I can give myself a few different reads. I believe my defense is my strongest strength and being able to finish at the basket and using my quickness to beat defenders off the dribble.”

Game Comparisons/ Model:

“I would say I model my game after Chris Paul because he gets his teammates involved and he can score when he needs to.”

Mindset heading into high school season:

“My mindset for this season is to work hard every day, learn to do whatever it takes to make my team better. I’m excited about the grind and the process this upcoming high school season.”

Playing at the CP3 Rising Stars camp:

“It was a good experience playing at the CP3 camp because they were telling me stuff that could help me in my future and playing against that type of talent showed me I could compete with some of the top players. It also showed me what I need to work on.”
