Phenom Hoops continues to bring you new names that you will want to get to know sooner rather than later. We had a chance to view several incoming freshmen at the CP3 Rising Stars and we are bringing you another name to remember. 2026 Desmond Bellot is a 6’3 guard that really showcased his ability to create for himself but also finds his teammates. He was strong in getting downhill and really made his presence felt on both ends.

We recently spoke to Bellot to learn more about his experience and his game.

Game Breakdown:

“I would describe my game as a poised and versatile prospect.  I like to be in control and play at my pace. I’m also able to score at all three levels while being unselfish and creating for my teammates.”

Game Comparisons/ Model:

“Darius Garland and Chris Paul”

Phenom: Why those two?

“Garland’s ability to create space and attack whenever he wants while also getting his teammates involved.  I would say I try to take away how Chris Paul plays screens, passes, and his leadership.”

Mindset heading into high school season:

“To get the mental stuff down early like my leadership and energy.  Always learning how to be a better point guard, work on getting to my spots with my mid-range more, and just be consistent throughout the season.”

Playing at the CP3 Rising Stars camp:

“The camp was probably one of the best I’ve been to. It was fun to see all the best kids in the country play against each other and see how I stack up against them. I learned that in high school, everyone is kind of at the same level, but it is the little things that put you over the edge like your energy and defense. I wanted to show that I was one of the best point guards in the country and I think I showed that.”
