We continue to look at new faces heading to the state of North Carolina this coming season and certainly players you will want to get to know quickly. A new name that was recently announced to all hoops fans in North Carolina is 2021 6’7 Daniel Nixon, who comes from The Hill School in Pennsylvania and will now be playing for Coach Antonio Lowe at Winston-Salem Christian.
“It was a matter of me coming and being a huge impact and showcase my abilities in front of the big stage with the national schedule,” Nixon said when asked what made Winston-Salem Christian the place for him. “I’m going to miss my old school and I felt this was overall a good opportunity for me to be seen more and play a very competitive schedule that is going to prepare me.”
So, what is Nixon hoping to show and how would he describe his game? This is what he had to say.
“I’m hoping to show that being in the HoopState of basketball, I could compete with a lot of the talent there. I feel like I just want to do more of the showing than talking, so I leave the state of North Carolina as a player who leaves a huge mark.” – Nixon on what he hopes to show when in NC
“I feel like I’m very versatile, I feel like I can make it hard for defenders to guard me because of the space I create with my shot and athleticism. I love dunking the ball and I’m a scorer on all three level and I feel I can guard multiple positions.”
Nixon certainly could be one that may blow up once he is able to get back on the court, as programs have shown a lot of interest his way.
Schools like Penn State, Temple, George Washington, Auburn, Georgetown, St. John’s, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Clemson, La Salle, and Iona have all be recruiting him.
