There is something to be said about players that just continue to work hard, even if it doesn’t always go your way. 2021 Michael Dulin would fall under that category after learning more about his story and has now earned his first offer from Ferrum University.

Dulin has been extremely productive this summer and fall with the Carolina Riptide, as the 6’3 prospect uses his length very well, gets out in transition, and continues to show that he can be a productive offensive threat on the floor. It must be one of a few reasons why Ferrum extended an offer his way recently, a moment that he won’t forget.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to play at the next level,” he told Phenom Hoops. “I’ve been playing since I was young and it was always a dream of mine to play basketball in college. This is just the beginning and more will continue to come. It just proves that all the hard work that I put in is showing.”

Playing with the Carolina Riptide this summer was a huge help, as they attended several big events and several Phenom Hoops events, giving coaches a first-hand look at Dulin’s potential. The Riptide is a tremendous program and they do it the right way, but they are also a program with a lot of talent that can play at the next level and are finally getting the attention they deserve.

Dulin has had a fun summer with his team, as he knew that this is a group that plays team basketball, has unselfish players, and one that could give him an opportunity to compete at a high level.

Though it has been a successful summer/fall for Dulin recently, it hasn’t always been that way as he has worked incredibly hard over several years to get that opportunity to play at the next level, as he told us more about his background story.

“Seven years ago, I was cut from my AAU team,” he said. “I tried out for my middle school team in seventh grade and I was cut. The same year, I was cut from my other team. As a freshman, I didn’t play much on JV. In my sophomore year, I spent more time in the gym with my trainer, Coach Dante, which helped improve my shot and skill set. Prior to joining the Riptide, I played with Pro Skills and Coach Jeff Matuszko saw the potential that I had and introduced me to the Riptide. Immediately, I saw how well the Riptide played and knew I wanted to be on this team. My game has improved from being cut in the past. Over the last eight months, I’ve been putting in countless hours in my driveway to get better. I also work with Coach Brandt; he has helped me increase my vertical by doing different workouts.”

Now, all that hard work that he has put in finally paid off with his first off and Dulin only hopes that he can continue to put in that work and showcase his potential at the next level.
