(1) Farmville Central vs. (2) Goldsboro

It's easy to get excited about this matchup, as these are two of the most popular squads throughout North Carolina. On one side, Farmville Central has been nothing short of dominant as a program over the last decade. Coach Larry Williford is sporting a record of 257-37 with four state championships over the last ten seasons, which is absolutely ridiculous. This current group has only suffered one loss all season, coming against one of the better teams across the country in Don Bosco Prep. Jah Short is their clear leader (who continues to prove that he was one of the most under-recruited players in the state) while Mykal Williams, Jayden Pitt, Alex Moye, and JD Daniels fill out the rest of their talented core. Meanwhile, Goldsboro continues to have a ton of success behind the trio of Takorrie Faison, Amari Latham, and Tajmari Joyner'who combine for 76.6% of their team's points and 65.7% of their total rebounds. Aside from their loss to Westover, the Cougars' only other defeat came against Farmville Central nearly two months ago. Regardless of the result, this should be one of the most entertaining matchups across the board.

(2) Reidsville vs. (8) Lincoln Charter

Given the complete differences in style, location, and team makeup, there are a ton of interesting subplots for this contest. Reidsville likely enters this game as the favorite, given their undefeated status and the fact that no opponent has been able to contain their freshman duo of Dionte Neal and Kendre Harrison. Add in Amari Baggett and Al Jariq Lee, and it's really difficult to bet against the Rams. The gaudy production doesn't need to be reiterated, but stopping an absolute interior force and one of the most dynamic guards in the state is way easier said than done. However, Lincoln Charter welcomes the underdog label, especially after beating first-seeded North Surry (who was commonly picked as a favorite for a state title) just a few days ago. Although their record indicates some ups and downs, it's worth noting that the Eagles opened up their season with a brutal schedule (going 1-7) and have gone 24-6 since the initial stretch. They have a slew of useful pieces, but the trio of Kelan Flowers, Elijah Burnett, and Xavier Crawford have been their main guys all season.
