Phenom Hoops previews each team participating in the NC Top 80. We check out Team 1 here.

Team 1

The Name

6'5' Sophomore David Caraher (Chapel Hill HS) ' Caraher, already an NC Top 80 alum, is a wing who has already committed to Butler. The kid is highly skilled, talks trash like he is on the playground, and competes as if each play is his last.

The Dog

5'11' Junior Jalen Sanders (North Rowan) ' Sanders, a repeat camp attendee, is a competitor. The strong lead guard plays with a chip on his shoulder, at all times. North Rowan consistently wins games, he plays AAU with CP3, yet Sanders still gets over looked. He knows this, and it bugs him. Watch Out!

The Player to Watch

6'3' Junior Mark Gilbert (Terry Sanford) ' Gilbert was a Top 80 invitee last year, but was forced to miss due to injury. All Gibert did this season was pick up 9 BCS offers in football, the transition over to lead his high school team to a 3-loss state championship season. One of the best on ball defenders in the state, and as confident as they come on the ball.

The Break Out

6'7 Sophomore Deng Kongdok (New Garden Friends) ' This is a new name not many have heard of. This should change soon. Kongdok is a long lefty, that is very long, very athletic, and has good ball skills. Look for his name to start circulating soon.

The Shooter

6'2' Sophomore Michael Hueitt (Village Christian) ' There are not many out there who can carry a team like Hueitt can. The Top 80 alum, is a kid that can heat up in a hurry and go for 20 in a quarter. Look for him to make a lot of noise from 15' extended Saturday.

The Human Highlight

6'2' Junior Jaylen Wray (Crest) ' Wray helped lead his high school team to the state semifinals this year. The wing, gets out in transition and likes to play above the rim. Look for a couple high light reel type finishes Saturday

The Young Buck

6'3 Freshman Coby White (Greenfield School) ' A name you probably don't know yet, but soon will. White plays with great poise and feel. A combo guard is able to shoot from beyond the arc, but also has the ability to create positive plays for his team mates. He is a major young prospect.
