Kevin's Fab 5 +1

NC Phenom 150 Girls

No. 17: 5'5 2019 Jaia Wilson (Clyde A Erwin High School/Hendersonville, NC)

Jaia is a pass first point guard who did a good job at applying pressure and getting paint touches, once there she was looking to find an open man to drop it off too. Jaia has good foot speed which she used on the defensive end to get numerous steals or cause turnovers. Jaia ended the event by winning Ms. Defense which was well earned. Going forward I would like for her to look for her shot more and not to be so hesitant on the offensive end.

No. 31: 5'7 2019 Makayia Kimble (Village Christian Academy/Fayetteville, NC)

Athletic combo guard with deep range who stayed in attack mode all day. I love how Makayia competed did a great job at defending her position which led to steals and highlight plays. Going forward I would like to see her create more off the bounce for others.

No. 49: 5'9 2022 Madison Nereu (Cardinal Gibbons High School/Cary, NC)

Madison had a bag full of treats for anyone who guarded her in the post today. She has good footwork with a package of post moves even counters if the first'move is stopped. Madison was able to put the ball on the floor to drive by defenders and finished through contact. When she wasn't getting rebounds and leading the break she was the trailer and was very effective from the free throw line with quick pullup.

No. 52: 5'11 2021 Ashara Hayes (Jack Britt High School/Fayetteville, NC)

Ashara is a very intriguing prospect who impacts the game every way possible. Ashara is a terror in transition and even though she was the tallest player on the team and played in the post she was also the best passer. She won Ms. Hustle and if stats were taking I would be willing to bet she was in top 3 of every category. If she not punishing you getting to the rim she will pull up on you for mid-range jumper. Has a very bright future once she polishes up more of her ball skills watch out.

No. 53: 5'11 2021 Keonna Bryant ( E.E. Smith High School/Fayetteville NC)

Combo forward who is skilled around the basket. She doesn't say much just goes about her business and gets it done. Gets out in transition and can finish with either hand. Keonna is at her best when slashing but is also able to step out and hit jumpers.

No. 54: 5'11 2023 Miya Giles-Jones (Village Christian Academy/Fayetteville NC)

If Miya graduation year wasn't on paper I would have thought she was at least a JR in high school. At first sight I thought she was just a hard-playing post player but after further review she is just a ball player. Miya keeps coming at you all game long, she attacks the basket like a bull in a china shop and defends everything. It's truly scary knowing that she is only an 8th'grader. Going forward I would to see her to continue to work on her jumper to further diverse her game.
