The first day of our third annual Tyler Lewis HoopFest concluded with a highly anticipated matchup between NC GBB and Forsyth Country Day. This contest opened up with NC GBB taking complete control and establishing a double-digit lead before ultimately finishing the quarter with an 18-10 lead. The second period featured more of the same, as NC GBB continued to dictate the pace and maintain their distance on the scoreboard—entering halftime with a 35-23 advantage. Following the break, the Furies looked like an entirely different team. Their uptick in energy immediately led to strong rebounding, improved defensive play, and quality execution on offense. However, NC GBB refused to quit. They held tough and maintained a 57-51 lead through three quarters. In the final period of play, neither team gave an inch and the back-and-forth action continued. Although neck-and-neck down the stretch, NC GBB ultimately claimed a 76-72 victory over Forsyth Country Day.
