NC GBB “Good, Better, Best!” Academy (“NC GBB”) is a unique opportunity for young ladies that have a strong desire to play basketball on the collegiate level. It is a highly competitive player development exposure alternative to the traditional high school basketball experience. Our primary goal is to assist high school female basketball student-athletes in fully developing their skill sets to maximize college scholarship opportunities during the high school season.

NC GBB Coaching Staff
Coach Ty Cox has 16 years of coaching experience including 10 years (2010-2020) as Head Coach at Jordan High School. In addition, since 2004 Coach Cox has been the Director of Carolina All-Stars Girls Basketball Program. Coach Cox has coached over 200 players that have become college student-athletes.

Coach Tiara Malcom has 14 years of Division 1 coaching experience including 5 years (2016-2020) as Head Coach at Division 1 Florida International University (FIU). From 2006 to 2015, Coach Malcom helped lead Delaware to 2  CAA Regular Season & 2 Tournament Championships, and 6 post-season berths,  coached two WNBA draft picks, including the 2nd overall pick in the 2013 WNBA draft and two-time WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne.

Coach Salita Greene played college basketball at East Carolina University.  Coach Greene is a native of Durham, North Carolina where she attended Jordan High School and played under Coach Cox. While at Jordan, Coach Greene was PAC-6 Conference Player of Year and left as Jordan’s all-time leading rebounder and 2nd all-time scorer.

#23 Maya Robinson (5-9) is a sophomore from Raleigh, North Carolina. As a member of the varsity team at Middle Creek High School her freshman season, Maya led the team in scoring, assists, and steals and was 2nd leading rebounder. Maya was named South Wake Athletic Association All-Conference.

#4 Zoe Adams (5-11) is a sophomore from Apex, North Carolina. As a member of the Apex Friendship High School team her freshman season, Zoe averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals per game.

#5 My’Shiah McQueen (5-8) is an unsigned senior from Selma, North Carolina. As a member of the varsity team at Smithfield-Selma High School, My’Shiah had season highs of 22 points, 13 rebounds & 4 steals.

#1 Samiyah Barker (5-6) is an 8th grader from Durham, North Carolina.  As a member of the Neal Middle School team her 7th grade year, Samiyah helped lead her team to Durham Middle School Championship and was named the Durham Middle School Tournament Most Valuable Player.

#3 Lindsay Suitt (5-8) is a sophomore from Durham, North Carolina. As a member of the varsity team at Durham School of the Arts, Lindsay helped lead her team to qualify for the NCHSAA State Playoffs as team’s steals leader and 2nd leading scorer. Lindsay was named Mid-State Conference All-Conference. Season Highs of 28 points, 7 rebounds & 6 steals.

#15 Semirah Duffie (5-10) is a sophomore from Franklinton, North Carolina.  As a member of the varsity team at Franklinton High School, Semirah helped lead her team to qualify for the NCHSAA State Playoffs.  Season Highs of 13 points and 7 rebounds.

#2 Myla Watson (5-8) is a sophomore from Durham, North Carolina.  As a member of the varsity team at Leesville Road High School, she was a key contributor that helped lead her team to qualify for the NCHSAA State Playoffs from one of the toughest conference in the state (CAP-7). Season high was 8 points.

#25 Nailah Khan (5-10) is an 11th grader from Durham, North Carolina. As a sophomore at Voyager Academy, she was the team’s 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder. Season Highs of 22 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 blocks.

#44 Justice Zimmerman (5-9) is an 8th grader from Durham, North Carolina. As a member of Durham School of Arts her 7th-grade year, she was a key contributor to the team’s successful season as one of the team’s top rebounders and scorers.
