The latest rankings for 2025 in North Carolina have been released from Phenom Hoops, as this is a loaded class of talent for a variety of levels. There are plenty of familiar names that you will see, but here are a few players that I’m eager to see more and to see if they could see an uptick this upcoming season.

2025 Rankings: https://www.phenomhoopreport.com/2025-north-carolina-rankings/

2025 6’8 Preston Copeland (Combine Academy)

Copeland, who is now a Combine Academy, is an interesting prospect because there are factors to like about his game and frame, and you also see that there is potential with his game.  He is a physical forward who brings activity to the paint and finishes at the rim, but there are areas where he should only continue to develop.  Now at Combine Academy and with him getting more work on his game, Copeland could be a sneaky prospect to keep an eye on.

2025 6’3 Madden Collins (Christ School)

Collins is a 6’3 guard who I believe shows promise with his game and now with key losses from last year at Christ School, this could be more of an eye-opening season for the guard. He has good length with his frame and consistently has shown that he can make high IQ plays as well as be a consistent presence in knocking down shots from multiple levels.  With more on his plate, Collins has a chance to showcase even more of his game and is a player to watch more in the rankings.

2025 6’8 Icare Bakadisula (Concord Academy)

Bakadisula is one that some may have missed out on or haven’t seen in a while, but this is a 6’8 prospect that needs to be reminded of. When he is on the court, Bakadisula brings a lot of intrigue with his ability to finish with power and athleticism at the rim, his developing feel more with the ball in his hands, his ability to impact the game on the boards, and how he continues to add more levels to his game. When healthy, Bakadisula could be a good snag for a future program and we are eager to see more of him this season.

2025 6’5 Kenny Miller (Ben L. Smith)

Miller has been a name we have talked about on several occasions this summer and has put his name as the clear go-to guy at Ben L. Smith. From what we have seen, we expect Miller to have a big season and really get a chance to show his overall impact, which could grab the attention of more college programs. He has athleticism in his game, makes plays with the ball in his hands, scores well inside and out, is strong out in transition, and shows he can be a playmaker for others as well.

2025 6’8 Julian Johnson (Providence Day)

Johnson is another player that we are eager to see more of this upcoming season, as he has seen his recruitment take another level and he could see his ranking continue to increase. Johnson understands his value and where he can make his presence felt, but has also gotten bigger and stronger as well as one that should be more assertive offensively.  If he continues his recent trend as of late, he could be a very sneaky prospect to rise up the ranks.

2025 6’2 Trevor Best (Word of God)

Best is another player who has had a very good summer and has caught the attention of several programs.  There is no doubt about it, this is a guard that knows how to fill it up and can score with the best of them, showing tremendous confidence from outside but can also make plays off the bounce; there aren’t too many shots he doesn’t like and from what we saw this summer, he should only continue to put up big numbers.
