Phenom Hoop Report couldn’t be any more excited about kicking off what should be a fun few months, especially with a chance to watch the next up-and-coming talent from around the region.  That is what the Queen City Middle School Showcase will bring you.

It allows everyone to learn new names and check out new talent, as well as see the development of a few future stars.

That is why we have been previewing teams and names that will be attending the event this upcoming weekend. Here are the names to watch.

Trey Green (2023) – Team Charlotte

Green will be a fun one to watch at the point guard spot.  He already has instincts and plays at a much higher level than his age.  Green is a true floor leader and displays a nice shot.  Rick Lewis was able to watch him as well, saying:

“5’8 2023 Trey Green had 15 points, including 2 3-pointers.  Electric, explosive, and crafty scoring point guard.  Plays with so much poise/maturity for an 8th grader.”  He later went on to say that watching Trey Green is like watching a Devon Dotson clone.  That is some high praise already for such a young point guard.

Robert Dillingham (2023) – Team United

If you search for his name on social media, you will see a few posts that show and explain why this young man can light up the scoreboard.  Posts saying “this young man is averaging 45 points per game” as well as others, he is a name that should be on your radar.

Our own Frank Bennett wrote about him back in December as well, saying “Dillingham is a solid ball handler and is as good three-point shooter as anyone I saw all weekend.  He scored at all levels and has such a great touch and smooth shooting stroke.”  This kid can LIGHT IT UP and he will be a main attraction in Charlotte this weekend.

Callum Richard (2023) – Team Loaded NC

This young man already has the height as an 8th grader that people will love but then when you watch him on the court, you can see that this guy gets it early on.  He can be a double-double machine on the floor, with recent stats of posting 35 points and 21 points for Gaston Day’s JV team not long ago.  Rick Lewis was also able to watch him just a few days ago, saying:

“Know we don’t like to mention 8th graders but 6’8 2023 Callum Richard is definitely a SIM Card guy.  Highly skilled big beyond his years.  He has great touch around the rim and uses his height to seal off defenders and score in the paint.  He knows how to find his spot down low and get defenders on his backside, while finishing around the bucket.
