Hollingsworth will be in action for both Southern Jam Session I and II

Taveion Hollingsworth may not be a name that many have heard. However, his game is one that will make you take notice the second that you watch him play. He doesn’t play on a shoe circuit and isn’t in a major metropolitan so he has flown beneath the radar.

As a junior, Hollingsworth led his Paul Laurence Dunbar High School team to a Kentucky Sweet 16. Hollingsworth was named the MVP of this tournament. For those of you who did not know, Kentucky is one of only three states who play their state tournament without utilizing a class system. Schools of all sizes play in this tournament. The likes of Rex Chapman and OJ Mayo have competed in this event. Through his junior season Hollingsworth averaged 21 points on 53.1% from the field and grabbed 5.4 rebounds per game.

Hollingsworth currently carries offers from St Louis, Wright St, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead St, East Tennessee St, and Winthrop (a small piece to what he should have). He has visited Louisville, Western Kentucky, and Dayton and he is being evaluated by the likes of Butler and West Virginia.

Playing with MATTS Mustangs, expect Hollingsworth to create a lot of noise throughout the week. He is an unselfish kid, who can score with the best of them. H is a good athlete with a reported 36” vertical leap and can really shoot the ball with range and touch.
