Temetrius Morant, known as 'JA' to those close to him, is a player mid major schools (at least) should start recruiting.

Like with most players in our region, Morant has been coming to Phenom events for a couple of years now. He has been to numerous individual camps as well as AAU events.

It is seeming to happen all over South Carolina, however Temetrius Morant is a name that many have not heard of…yet. Morant is well known around his area, he was named South Carolina AA All-State first team as a sophomore. However, now it is time that a much larger area takes note.

Morant is a smooth guard with a smooth downhill feel. He has an aggressive handle that gets him into the paint often. During the 2014 Spring NC Phenom 150 we stated, 'Temetrius has 'it' with his consistent play and development as a player. His basketball maturity can take him as far as he'd like it to. Explosive first step, can take the body contact, and is also crafty around the rim. The best part of his game was certainly his ability to make the first step and get to the rim. His penetration ability into the lane was some of the best we saw on the courts that weekend, while also showing that can finish with contact. That is something you can't find in a lot of 5'11 guards.'

This past weekend Morant took another step with his regional notoriety, however it was his norm for him this year. At the Pepsi Carolina Challege (a local Post-Christmas Holiday tournament) Morant scored 31 and 36 points in the first two games. He then scored 30 in the championship game to average 32 per game. However, this isn't new for Morant. This year he has also had games of 47, 36, and 35 points.

After his performance in the prestigious 2015 South Carolina Top 80 Phenom Hoops' National Analyst Jamie Shaw wrote, 'Morant has all the tools one likes in a guard. He handles the ball well, can get downhill in the half court, and he made shots off the catch and pull up.'

At this point Morant doesn't have much recruitment going on. However, we would not be surprised to see his recruitment quickly take an A10, Conference USA, A Sun, etc…feel.
