AAU Team: Boo Williams EYBL – Brian Graves

Coach Frank says: Daryl combines strength and quickness in an impressive powerfully built frame and compliments elite athleticism with a high basketball IQ and sound basketball skills. He handles the ball very well and gets from end to end with the dribble in a hurry yet can decelerate and knock down the mid range jumper at a high percentage or blow by a defender and get to the basket. Daryl is a shifty, bouncy playmaker and a very good passer. He has great explosiveness not only in his first step and in his footwork on both ends but is explosive as he elevates to dunk the basketball, he will throw it down on a defender! Daryl can beat his defender off the dribble yet can also employ his powerful upper body strength and drive a defender to the rim and score. He is a very good defender both on ball and off the ball as he closes quickly into passing lanes. Daryl is an energy guy, scrappy and tough! Look for Daryl Mackey, Jr to use the opportunity this summer to dramatically improve his stock and his basketball skills as he is playing for former Catawba star and 3X All SAC guard Brian Graves who also served as an Associate Head Coach for Catawba after playing professionally in Germany.
