There's no denying the massive difference in basketball landscape between prospects from Florida versus North Carolina. However, Phenom Hoops was fortunate enough to have North Florida Elite attend various events throughout the spring season. They had a collection of tough, gritty guys who were much more talented than they appeared at first glance. Players like Sebastian Orama and Ryan Salamo were among their numerous standouts, but Mykol Sanchez shined as the clear leader of the operation on a game-to-game basis. He was easily among the top performers and overall prospects in attendance at our G3 Showcase. Following the event, we featured him in 'Bendel's Best,' but it would only be the start of his ascension into stardom'

In regards to his actual on-court identity, Sanchez is an absolute offensive machine with the ability to legitimately create and score at an efficient rate from anywhere on the floor. He's a quality athlete with IQ, vision, toughness, and a high motor, but his abilities as a shot-maker seem to stand out above all else. Sanchez is an actual threat to score immediately upon crossing halfcourt, but also possesses a crafty arsenal of reliable separation moves to generate clean looks. At 6-foot-5, he's a well-rounded athlete with a strong frame and the ability to pose a constant threat with or without the ball in his hands. Sanchez also displays nice instincts as a defender and rebounder.

Not even a month later, Sanchez has earned his first Division I offer from Florida International. While other programs have been in pursuit, namely Florida A&M and Emory and Henry, FIU deserves kudos for being the first to extend a scholarship opportunity. Right now, it's difficult to envision a scenario where Sanchez doesn't become an obvious priority for numerous types of scholarship-level programs'especially if he continues on his current trajectory.
