Juwan Gary Vs. Elias King
Liberty Heights (NC) Vs. Lincoln Academy (GA)
3:00PM Saturday, November 17

There is something about a pair of playmaking wings that is aesthetically pleasing to watch. What you have here is a pair of 4-star, future SEC wings who will be matched up to face off head to head against one another. Both players started the season off strong and both players are playing with something to prove in the nation's eye.

Juwan Gary went into his junior year ranked among the nation's top 40 prospects in his 2019 class. All he did last season was led his team to a 25-4 record and a state title. He averaged 20.5 points and shot 52% from the field and grabbed 8 rebounds, 2 steals and a block per game. He then went on to the EYBL and led Team United to the Elite 8 while averaging 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1 steal/block per game.

He finished Top 25 in scoring, out of 501 of the very best players in high school basketball, on the EYBL. He won a state championship and made it to the Elite 8 of the Peach Jam. Yet for some reason, Juwan Gary's stock dropped. He absurdly dropped from a consensus Top 40, into the 70s in the national rankings. However, he was still a top priority target for Alabama, and they were able to lock him up early.

Looking at the case of Elias King, he was a consensus Top 75 prospect. He is still ranked #70 by Rivals but has inexplicably fallen completely out of the Top 100 by 247Sports. He went onto the EYBL this summer, with the Georgia Stars and flash inconsistent brilliance, as he averaged 10 points per game. It is easy to watch King and see what the future holds with him. Sure, he is skinny and still figuring it out, but more so he has all the tools the modern game loves in a 6'8' playmaking wing who can handle, shoot and pass.

Gary, who has committed to Alabama, started the year off strong with a 28-point performance, scoring at each level and shooting 50% from the field. King started his year off with an 18-point performance, where he didn't play in the fourth quarter, knocking in a couple of 3s. Both players are able to create for themselves and both players are on a war path this season with their eyes clearly focused on elevating their stock in the national eye.

Without question, this matchup will go a long way for both of them. Eyes should be firmly planted on the pair as there will be some fireworks.
