Houston's Alden Applewhite starting earning high-major offers in the summer of 2018, when Ole Miss and TCU offered.  Texas A&M and Mississippi State then jumped in with an offer in late August and October in 2019.

However, more seem to be jumping in, as Applewhite has added three new offers in the month of May.  St. John's, Iowa State, and Xavier have all recently offered the rising senior.

'Recruitment has been going well,' he told Phenom Hoops.  'St. John's, Xavier, and Iowa State are the most recent schools and I keep in contact with the head coaches from all three of those schools.  I've also been in contact with Coach Smart at Texas, so it has been good so far and it's really picking up for me.'

He recently took a virtual tour with Arkansas as well, getting a great glimpse of the program as well as getting a better chance to develop a relationship with the coaching staff.

'The virtual tour with Arkansas was great, they showed me parts of the facility that they could and they told me how they felt I would fit in great with their fast pace offense.  They always express how they have a good relationship with their players.'

Applewhite also mentioned that he is pretty sure he will have virtual visits with Auburn and Texas soon, possibly in the next two weeks.  And he has already done virtual visits with Ole Miss, Iowa State, St. John's, and Xavier as well.

When he has these virtual visits though, Applewhite is closely looking at the relationships the staff has with their players and the player development at the program, as well as the program finding success in producing pros.
