AAU: Indiana Elite/ Team Tradition

Looking into the state of Indiana, we head to Jeffersonville HS to talk to a forward in the class of 2025, as 6’8 Tre Singleton is coming off a strong high school season and putting that success right into summer ball. Singleton was able to be a huge presence on the court, averaging nearly 14ppg and seven rebounds per game, helping the Red Devils to a 20-8 overall record before falling.  But he has been putting in the work this summer on the AAU side and finding plenty of success.

In June, Singleton has been pulling in some strong offers, including five new offers from college programs. So we spoke to him about some of the latest, who else has been showing interest, and more on his game and development.

Phenom: How was everything this past season for you and your team? And how has this summer gone for you overall?

Singleton: Our past season went well; we had a pretty good run. We made it to semi-state but lost, unfortunately. The summer has been going really well. My recruitment has really started to pick up in the month of June. My AAU team is currently undefeated headed to Rock Hill in July. And my school ball team is yet to lose to a team in the state, even beating the state champs from last year.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game and how you like to operate? Where do you flourish?

Singleton: I would say I’m a versatile defender, a hard rebounder, and I like to operate in the mid-post/ low-post area but can step out and take bigger defenders off the dribble. I flourish in the low post. I think I have really solid footwork and I am pretty good at using my body.

Phenom: What areas of your game have you been working on to develop?

Singleton: I’ve been focusing a lot on improving my 3-pointer.

Phenom: What offers do you hold? And who has been strong with you from those?

Singleton: I hold offers from Northwestern, Eastern Michigan, Richmond, IUPUI, Valpo, Miami (OH), Furman, Indiana State, Wright State, Kent State, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Western Kentucky, and Georgia State. They’ve all been recruiting strongly. I’ve been able to build really good relationships with the staff, really being able to get to know them not only as coaches but as people.

Phenom: What other schools have been showing interest that have yet to offer?

Singleton: Some schools that have been showing interest my way are Butler, Louisville, Northwestern, Memphis, Loyola-Chicago, and Bradly.

Phenom: What schools have you been able to visit? If so, what did you like about each?

Singleton: Schools I have been able to visit so far are IUPUI, Valpo, Furman, and Wright State. Valpo has a really quiet and peaceful campus. Furman has a really nice location and a very beautiful campus. Wright State has some very nice facilities. And IUPUI is in a very nice location next to a lot of nice things.

Phenom: Any schools you want to visit or any visits you have set up in the future?

Singleton: I don’t have any visits set up as of right now but I am planning to set some up.
