6’2 2022 Nik Graves: Garner Road 3SSB 2022/Greensboro Day School
Graves plays the perfect role for his skillset on this G Road club and its obvious in the way he produces while running the team to near perfection. He minimizes mistakes, gets his guys in position to succeed, and makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. He showed the ability to get above the rim while also having an impact on the defensive end of the floor. He has a chance to be a part of one of the best backcourts in the state next season with Jaydon Young at Greensboro Day.
6’10 2022 CJ Collins: Garner Road 3SSB 2022/West Craven High School
Collins really impressed me in the first game of the day due to his two way activity and willingness to protect the rim with purpose. He’s mobile with long arms and solid touch around the rim with both ends. He’s still far from a finished product but displayed a lot of promise as a young big man. His continued development will be important but if he continues to work he has a chance to see his stock soar in the next 12-18 months. One to monitor very closely.
6’3 2022 Amarie Haynie: Team EAT 16u/Winston-Salem Christian
Haynie did a variety of things really well in this one and it started with knocking down jumpers from beyond the arc and eventually moved in to him running the team at a high level and making an impact on the defensive end throughout the rest of the game. It’s incredibly apparent when watching him that he deserves the offers coming his way. The likes of Wichita St, Wake Forest, and Ole Miss have already offered and I expect many more to com this way in the next few weekends.
6’9 2022 Jai Smith: Tea Marie 16u/St Thomas Moore
Jai Smith is a guy that I haven’t really seen outside of an open gym run but his activity really impressed me. He has a chance to develop into a high level prospect due to his elite size, length, and motor. He plays hard and showed some flashes of perimeter skill as well. His best basketball is definitely ahead of him but he is a prospect for MM+-HM Coaches to start tracking as soon as now.
6’2 2022 Kyle Frazier: CC Elite 22-21/Weddington High School
Frazier absolutely lit it up from beyond the arc in this one, particularly in the 2nd half. He has excellent mechanics from top to bottom and does an excellent job moving without the ball. Despite getting super hot from beyond the arc, Frazier continued to play within himself and the team concept. Expect big things from him the rest of the summer with this talented CC Elite bunch.
