Michael Wynn could be the leader ECU Hoops has desired

2018 6'6 Michael Wynn is one of the top lead guards in the entire Hoop State and he is the type of player capable of leading a culture change at a university that hasn't seen much success on the hardwood.

Currently, Wynn leads a talented offense at Liberty Heights (NC), Wynn is the playmaker for this team and at 6'6 he's a nightly mismatch for opposing point guards. With Wynn's natural athletic ability and court swagger he has the demeanor to take over games.Offensively Wynn is a three- level scorer; he's a streaky shooter and if given space Wynn can get hot quick, on the drive Wynn is a tough finisher he absorbs contact and abuses smaller defenders at the cup.

Wynn is truly a gifted passer and enjoys making the players around him better, on the boards Wynn is extremely active he utilizes his explosiveness and length to compete with the big boys down low. Currently for the Cardinals Wynn plays all over the floor, his versatility on defense will be a strength that translates immediately to the next level.

ECU hasn't seen the NCAA tournament since 1993, currently, in their fourth season competing in the American Athletic Conference, the Pirates have yet to finish a season higher than seventh. They parted ways with head coach Jeff Lebo earlier this season and now sit (7-8, 1-3).

Needless to say, this program has been starved for success on the hardwood and Wynn along with Jayden Gardner and Deshaun Wade, who are two fine additions in their own right are capable of leading a new direction. This trio will form one of the top recruiting classes in the entire conference.

Why Pirate Nation-' 'I loved Coach Lebo, Coach Woj, Coach Perry, and everybody on the whole staff, the campus was beautiful, I felt like I had a chance to be successful there at East Carolina.' There are some senior guards leaving, I mean it's there it's open for me to go take.' Wynn said.

What he'll bring- ' I think I'll bring scoring, especially defense, and another ball handler, and just a dog, somebody that wants to change the program and bring success there.

Wynn isn't in the mold of a typical Pirates recruit he broke out onto the recruiting scene nationally over the summer as did the entire starting lineup for the 17U Team Loaded Va squad. He won't need much of a grace period to adjust before contributing, when he hits campus Wynn will be locked – loaded and ready to roll.
