West Charlotte has a lot of intriguing talent when you watch them on the floor. You first look at 2022 Chance Morrow, a prospect that is long and continues to show his scoring firepower. Then you look at 2021 Josiah Dow, a big with good touch on the floor.

However, you should quickly add another to that list and college coaches should be monitoring this young man, as 2023 Donovan Raymond has the potential to be a prospect of interest for college programs down the road.

Raymond was once a 6'6, 195-pound prospect but he now stands at 6'9, 215 pounds and could still be growing.  And as a 2023 prospect in North Carolina, that alone should grab the attention of many.  But he also is giving a glimpse of what he could be at the end, as Raymond continues to put in the work in developing his game and learning that he can really be a huge impact on both sides of the court.

It is only the start of the season but early on, Raymond is averaging 9.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game.  When Phenom Hoops got a glimpse of Raymond against North Meck recently, he was quite impressive, using his size and length well, blocking shots without fouling, making himself a rim-protector and as a rebounder, he ran the floor well as a big, and scored the ball well around the paint and at the rim. He really gave us a glimpse of what he could be towards the end of his high school career.

The intrigue is there for this young big man and it certainly looks like he could be a prospect of interest around the Charlotte area and in North Carolina, and he could quickly be a name that college coaches will want to get on.
