One of the top unsigned seniors still left on the board, 2021 Sheick Samoura, continues to attract the eyes of college coaches as he has racked in a few new offers recently.

It has been a great opportunity to get on the court this travel ball season and Samoura is focused on just one thing… getting a chance to showcase his game and leaving it all out on the court.  And he has brought that mindset each time he has stepped on the court so far.

“My mindset has always been to go hard,” he told Phenom Hoops.  “I know this year has been very unusual but I can’t use that as an excuse to not go head every time I’m on the court.  I figured that if I leave it all out there, then I would have no regrets going forward.”

With his game though, it’s easy to see why schools are still coming his way.  He is a long, fluid, athletic prospect that has great size for his position and one that can operate at multiple levels with ease.  With his game, it is why schools like North Carolina Wesleyan, USC-Aiken, and Pfeiffer all got involved late with an offer.

Samoura was actually on a visit at USC-Aiken when he received an offer from the program; it was a visit he seemed to really enjoy. “I actually visited USC Aiken and they said they loved my game and undoubtedly, I should be playing at Division I but the circumstances altered that,” he told Phenom Hoops.

He also racked in the other two offers on the same say.  “The other two essentially said the same thing (that USC Aiken said), that I had a great game and putting it all together coupled with getting bigger, faster, and stronger will make me a great player.”

Right now, Samoura has his deadline set for May 30th to decide and more schools could enter the race for the unsigned senior, as Western New Mexico, Catawba, Lincoln Memorial, and other prep schools have also expressed interest his way.

But in the end, he knows what he is looking for in a program at the next level, both on the court and in the classroom.

“College-wise, (I’m looking for) a good atmosphere where I can grow on and off the court.  Especially off of it because I know one day the ball will stop bouncing and my education is going to take me further.”
