Several memorable performances stood out to us at the Phenom Lakesgiving, but the one that may have been the most memorable was the showing from 2025 6’1 Jamie Lawson from Pine Lake Prep.

To put it simply… he was off the charts. He finished against Lincolnton with 38 points, seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal, as he simply couldn’t be stopped and was extremely effective.

Lawson proved that he is a college-worthy player who could be a tremendous late snag for a program. Time after time, he has produced on the big stage, including his latest at Lake Norman. Lawson was able to really flourish in a variety of ways and on both ends, as he brings a tough, physical feel to the court that displays his competitive nature. Throughout his game against Lincolnton, he was able to attack extremely well off the dribble, getting inside the defense, finishing through contact, and finding ways to score around defenders. He does a great job in maneuvering around opponents and finding holes in the defense, scoring with touch and a strong feel or at least finding ways to get to the free throw line. Of course, he brings so much value outside his offensive game as well. He is a high IQ guard who plays with pace, makes good reads and sees the floor, creates well for himself and others, and simply outworks his opponents, both offensively and defensively.

Lawson is at his best when he is able to show his ability to beat defenders off the dribble, consistently getting paint touches as well as hitting pull-up jumpers. And his game can expand to the perimeter as well if need be. This young man is a competitor on the court, and showed once again that he could help a program at the next level.
