Lady Phenom Hoops continues to provide and highlight players that have captured our eyes as of late, as we dive into 2028 Katelyn Cherry from New Manchester HS and who is playing with HER Elite this summer.
Playing recently at the Lady Rumble, Cherry captured the eyes of our scouts with her overall impact and play. Watching her play, she was effective in being able to score inside and attack off the dribble, as well as showing her face-up game from mid-range, and her ability to not only rebound but to be a playmaker and push in transition. She presents good size and overall feel, as she will be a target to watch all summer long. Our very own Jay Lawson gave us his breakdown of her game.

“2028 Katelyn Cherry stood out amongst a compelling roster for the 17u squad at #PhenomLadyRumble for Her Elite! Her go-to counter into a midrange pull up was effective all tournament long as well as her effort and energy on the defensive end. Cherry has zero fear against any opponent, and she shows it on every possession offensively and defensively. Her nice frame allows her to overpower smaller guards or easily blow by bigger forwards making her a really tough cover in the scouting report. She possesses a swagger that’s hard to describe but it translates to great basketball amongst her teammates & high energy. I look forward to seeing how far she takes it because her potential is very high!”
