If you had a chance to watch North Pitt this past season, you were watching some incredible talent on the court as North Pitt was able to walk away with a 29-3 record and a state title. Senior Zamareya Jones has been a proven star and an absolute show with the ball in her hands, but you also had a chance to watch the future in 2027 Jordan Speller.
Speller is coming off an impressive freshman season in which she averaged 17.2 points, 5.7 assists, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.0 steals per game. And though she had a tremendous season, this isn’t new to Lady Phenom, as we wrote back in 2023 that Speller has all the tools to be something special.
Walking away with a title, earning National Freshman of the Year by MaxPreps, and already garnering high-major interest from schools… she is just starting her story in what could be an incredible career to start in high school.
When watching her in action, Speller just has a natural gift in her ability to be a playmaker with the ball in her hands. She has incredible speed, crafty handles and change of pace, tremendous court vision and awareness, and just understands how to create her shot, especially in attack mode. Now, there are areas she can continue to work on; expanding her range and consistency but again, she is just a freshman starting her story.
Right now, she holds offers from Pittsburgh, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Boston College, Louisville, Arizona, Mississippi State, and several others, and that list should only continue as she looks to be one of the top players in the state and a national name.
