Lady Phenom is continuing its coverage of players throughout the region and from our events this season. At our latest event, the Phenom Opening, we had a great chance to check out some new names to learn as we dive into more of their game.

2027 Jillian Rush from Team USC and from Camden High School in South Carolina, was a standout at the event. She helped her team secure a championship while being an absolute force on the court for her team. This past season, she nearly averaged a double-double at Camden, averaging an impressive 10.9ppg and 8.4 rebounds per game, while also recording 1.1 assists, and 2.8 steals per game as the Bulldogs finished with a 17-7 record.

Our very own Jay Lawson was on deck this past weekend to check out her game, and here is what he had to say, as she will be on to continue to watch for this summer.

Jay Lawson’s Evaluation:

“2027 Jillian Rush of Lady TUSC had herself an impressive showing this past weekend at Phenom Opening. When her team needed her most against a scrappy Wilmington Excel team she came through. She displayed various strengths in her game being able to get play through contact & get to the rim with ease as well as knocking down big-time shots from the perimeter. At one point in the championship game Jillian went on a 6-0 run by herself extending the lead for Lady TUSC to 12 points. Down the stretch, she made some very clutch free throws to maintain the lead and capture a championship for her 17u squad. Jillian finished with 26pts on the offensive end & she played very solid defensively protecting the paint as well as stepping out on the perimeter keeping a handful of guards in check. She’s definitely a prospect I would keep my eyes on moving forward as the AAU season progresses.”
