The Select 60 Showcase was a great event over the weekend, as some of the premier talents from around the area all came to compete and shine on the big stage. One player that had several people talking was 2027 Jaidiah Blake from Terry Sanford; she is going to be a name you will want to learn quickly if you haven’t already.
At the event, we had this to say: “2027 Jaidiah Blake should be another name to watch out for. A player her age, she plays with such poise and with a tremendous feel/IQ of the game. Smart decisions, moves well with or without the ball, and brings balance to the court. @Select60 @LadyPhenomHoops #PhenomHoops”
She was quite impressive all throughout the event, as she put on a show. For a player who is just entering high school, Blake showed tremendous poise and control of the game. Whether it was displaying how crafty she can be as a playmaker, her ability to make plays with or without the ball, her ability to break down defenders or create her own shot… There was a lot to like about her game and she has a bright future.
For the most part, when the ball was in her hands, she was electric in being able to attack, get around defenders, showcase her vision and her ability to create, and her ability to get defenders on fakes and find her shot. Overall, I really enjoyed watching her in action and can’t wait to see more of her in the coming years.
