What a day it was at the Lady NC Top 80, as not only was it a great way to showcase the talent around the state but it also kicked off what we hope to bring with Lady Phenom. We want to continue the coverage from the event, as we talk about more players that grabbed our attention.
2024 5’9 Emerson Thompson came in as a player we were well aware about and her impact on the court, so we were excited to see what she could do against some of the top talent in the state. Thompson quickly showed her impact on the court, and it caught the attention of all our scouts as she was an impressive playmaker. Thompson was tremendous in filling up the stat sheet, being a scoring impact from a variety of levels, showcasing her vision and court awareness, and her ability to also be strong on the boards; she was all over the place. Emerson has an exceptional feel and IQ for the game, and she understands how to be a strong floor general and an effective scorer. After watching her again, there is no doubt in my mind she is a player that can impact the game for a college program at the next level, and we are excited in seeing what she can do in the future.
