Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player. Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Icyss Storm
Class: 2025
Committed to: Tennessee State

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Next, we look at a player who possesses a favorable crossroads between productivity and long-term upside, Icyss Storm. She’s a tough, team-oriented forward/post prospect with a phenomenal motor and the ability to reliably do the dirty work. Storm is a quality finisher and scorer out of the post, but also moves extremely well without the ball and hits jumpers at a high percentage from the perimeter. She’s very quick, especially for her size, which allows her to cause a ton of problems for opponents defensively. Storm also rebounds the ball at a consistent rate on both ends of the floor. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a better ball-handler. Coach Homes on Storm: “Icyss is a very hard worker on the court and should continue doing those small things to impact the game. Working on her left hand when going to the basket will help her game grow. Understanding spacing on defense will make her even more deadly. She’s extremely tough, but can be overly physical at times defensively.” Storm stood out as a difference-maker at camp and should have a highly productive junior season for Grace Christian.”

“Next, we look at a player that definitely made a lasting impression as a leader for this team, Icyss Storm. She’s a strong, athletic, rugged forward/post prospect with a nonstop motor and the ability to consistently overwhelm opponents on both ends of the floor. Storm is a great defender with the length, quickness, and sheer instincts to contain her assignment and force turnovers at a frequent rate. She can also actively toggle between multiple positions. Storm is a quality penetrator with the ability to finish through contact or pull-up from midrange. She’s an active rebounder that pushes the ball ahead and runs the floor in transition. Next in her development process is working on her passing ability, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Smith on Storm: “Icyss is a fierce competitor. Can score from all three levels but at her best inside the arc. Aggressive finisher but needs to improve on driving under control and making better decisions at times.” Storm proved to be a clear difference-maker at camp and should be a major piece for Grace Christian during her upcoming senior season.”
