South Meck has been a staple here in the Charlotte area but has had trouble in putting together consistent winning seasons on the court over the last few years. That is when head coach Gary Hall entered the picture last year. One of the top coaches around the region and a resume to back it up, Coach Hall has been looking to instill his wisdom into the program and has made a lot of noise quickly here in Charlotte.

It doesn't seem much different this year, as the Sabres have already grabbed the attention of many with a strong start to the season. South Meck finished the season with a 6-3 overall record last year and made some noise in the playoffs and it seems to be carrying over to this season as well but with a few new names on the court producing.

With our most recent viewing of the team, we were quite impressed with the guard play this team has and is one closely monitor this season.

Many already know 2024 Bishop Boswell, who is regarded as one of the top players and guards in the state for his class. He has only elevated his play this season, showing more of an aggressive feel on the court, creating more for himself offensively, showing an even more confident perimeter game, and still being electric in creating with the ball in his hands.

But then you have to look at the other guards on this team. 2022 Jacob Newman, who is also known as a football player, is an incredibly quick guard that can get to the cup and brings that physical feel to the court. You also have two other 2024 prospects in Sincere Rasul, who really impressed with his quickness, his ability to create, and step out to knock down shots on day 1 at the Charlotte Hoops Challenge. 2024 Peter Moye, a 6'2 prospect, has been known for his play during the summer but is really coming along with his overall development. Still crafty, can get into the paint, and has nice touch around the basket or from outside; seems like he is only getting stronger and smarter on the floor.

And they have done this all without Michael Nesbit, a 6'4 2023 guard that has been battling injuries to start the season.

Coach Hall has always been known for getting the best out of his players and his knowledge of the game is incredible. Even in a short time, he has risen the level of his players and of the program. This year, it could be all about the intriguing guard play the Sabres have, as they look to lead the charge and make a deep run this season.
