Programs are always looking for that next point guard and one to start keeping a bigger eye on is 2024 6'2 Quasim Oden from Grace Christian and with Team Wall. Phenom Hoops got a great glimpse of him once again to start the season at The Circuit's Battle for NC, where we had this to say:
'2024 Quasim Oden is attracting my eyes early on. Shifty guard with the ball in his hands, creates well off the dribble, and gets into the paint.'
He was back in action once again this weekend with Grace Christian at the Phenom Summer Showcase, where he continued to shine with his play. Oden is a tough point guard that understands how to make plays on the floor. Whether it is running the show and leading the offense for his team, or stepping up more as a scorer, Oden can really impact the court in various ways. Countless times, we have watched Oden find ways to get into the paint, create with the dribble, finish through contact, or find ways to get his teammates involved. And he is relentless with his attack, playing with a ton of energy and with something to prove.
When speaking with Coach Morris from Grace Christian, here is what he had to say about his young guard:
'Quasim Oden, known as 'Sim' is a special young man. He is a true point guard with all the tools of a high-level floor general. He plays extremely hard and has the 'it' factor. His length, IQ, skillset, and tremendous motor gives us a chance to compete and win every time we step on the court. Sim is the ultimate teammate and a joy to coach.'
Right now, Oden holds an offer from North Carolina A&T and when speaking with coach, he mentioned others have shown interest as well. But what we have seen out of Oden, he should be on the watch list for many others.
