Player: Evelyn Jimenez-Willis
School: Myers Park
Class: 2025
Height: 6’3
One thing that you can always say in the game of basketball is that you can’t teach size. Well, 2025 6’3 Evelyn Jimenez-Willis certainly brings that to the table for Myers Park but she is also one that has and should continue to steadily improve and develop as a player. Which is why she is one that I would be keeping a close eye on.
We recently had a chance to watch Jimenez-Willis in action two times, at the George Lynch Invitational and at the Title IX Showcase. She grabbed our attention in both, as she brings obvious appeal with her ability to control and man the paint at 6’3, and as she continues to develop her game offensively. One thing she does do is continue to remain active and a strong presence on the glass, towering over defenders and looking for easy putbacks, or attacking the defensive glass. Offensively, she has continued to make strides in understanding the game as well as building strength to be physical in the paint. But she does know how to get deep into the post, make decisive moves, absorb contact, and show solid footwork at her size.
She holds an offer from Lenoir-Rhyne right now and has other schools expressing interest. But I would strongly advise that more schools around the region start keeping a strong eye on this center from Myers Park, as she could be a strong get for a future program.
