It is always interesting to find teams that have young talent that seem to be producing at an early age at the high school level.  Yes, when you have an experienced, older team, it usually makes things easier for coaches but when you have a program full of young prospects stepping up at an early age, the future has to be exciting as well.

Seventy-First is a program that you will want to keep an eye on in North Carolina.  They are loaded with sophomores that are leading the charge and certainly could be ones to keep an eye on.  We got a glimpse of the young talent the program has recently in a game vs. Lumberton.  So far this season, the Falcons have these sophomores playing really well.

Jared Davis ' Averaging 10.8ppg, 2.8rpg
Jakoi Hassell ' Averaging 9.2ppg, 1.3apg
Randy Dockery ' Averaging 9.2ppg, 2.0rpg
Cameron Shelton ' 5.3ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.2spg
James Scott ' 4.7ppg, 4.8rpg, 0.8bpg
Derrick Green ' 3.8ppg, 2.5rpg, 0.8bpg

When we watched the young Falcons in action, Davis impressed and led the way, playing strong and finishing well around the paint, as well as moving well in getting around his defenders.  Jakoi Hassell scored well inside and out, using his speed to his advantage.

Randy Dockery and Cameron Shelton have been pretty consistent this season, with Dockery operating and scoring well inside the arc while Shelton has been good around the paint and on the boards.  Then you have two intriguing bigs in James Scott and Derrick Green.  Scott has a ton of length and good touch, while also operating well on the boards, while Green is a bully with his size down low and good hands; it was announced a while back that he actually earned an offer from North Carolina A&T.

Seventy-First sits at 3-3 on the season but with this group growing together both on and off the court, as well as still being young and developing, the Falcons will be a team to watch for and track.
