There was a ton of intriguing teams and talent that opened up a few eyes at the Phenom Holiday Classic. One player that caught some attention with his play was 2023 6'8 Kahlif Barnes with Piedmont Classical. One of the focal pieces for his team, Barnes really showcased just how effective he can be on the floor and be a play-making type forward.
When watching how he operates on the floor, Barnes does an excellent job in being patient and making smart decisions on the floor. He can be tough when flashing up towards the foul line; when he gets his touches, it usually leads to good things as he examines the floor well and looks first for his teammates/ open shots. If that isn't there, Barnes does an exceptional job in making something for himself, being able to put the ball on the deck and create for himself (has underrated handles for his size).
You add that all to his ability to also be relentless and active on the glass, his constant motor, and his mobility on the floor and it makes him an intriguing prospect to really keep an eye on.
