The number of sophomores that produced this season at the high school level in North Carolina is impressive.  Some of the names you may already but there are others that need to be recognized more.  One of those players is Ma'kyi Butler from Grace Christian in Sanford, North Carolina.

Butler, a 6'5, 220-pound sophomore is a name to really keep an eye on. He is part of a sophomore duo at Grace Christian that was impressive, as Butler averaged 18.1 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game through 30 games.

That included 14 double-double performances this season, helping his team secure a 17-14 overall record.

Butler has a nice balance in his game, showing that he has the capability of stepping out and scoring on several levels, but also use his size, moving really well on both sides of the court.  When asking Butler more about his game, he had this to say:

'I like to pop in and out with my game, from in the paint to bouncing out to the three-point line.  I'm a 6'5, 230-pound prospect that really is a powerful player but also has a quick first step.  I can change from left-side shooting to my right-side; a very versatile player on the court.  Not a very emotional player but goes about my business as usual.  I'm also a lockdown defender.'
