In the Wonderland Girl’s bracket championship game, two out-of-state national powers faced off in the Morris Catholic Crusaders (18th in the country) and the Purcell Marian Cavaliers. Morris Catholic took down local powers Clayton and Apex Friendship to make it to today, while Purcell Marian also beat local powers in Millbrook and Panther Creek. MC is led by the Pauldo twins, ranked 17 and 18 in the 2025 class, while PM is led by Dee Alexander, the number 1 ranked sophomore in the country. This game featured the best crowd of the day up to that point and the fans were into it for the full 32 minutes. Morris Catholic came out hot, hitting multiple shots from the outside in the opening minutes. The Crusaders jumped out an early lead thanks to their unselfish playstyle and their balanced scoring attack and ended up winning the first period 17-6. 2025 Mya Pauldo took over the game for about three minutes, in which she extended the Morris Catholic lead to 16 by herself. Pauldo and teammates Aleis Rosenfield (2024) and Daniella Matus (2025) were dominating the game inside and out as the Crusaders never gave the Cavaliers an inch. Morris Catholic took a 34-18 lead into halftime thanks to 12 points from Matus, 10 from Rosenfield, and 9 from Mya Pauldo. Dee Alexander had 10 of her teams 18 points. The second half was more of the same, with Morris Catholic keeping Purcell Marian at a comfortable distance for the entire third quarter. Mia Pauldo hit a three as time expired in the quarter to give the Crusaders their biggest lead of the game, the score being 54-35. Morris Catholic coasted to a 64-44 win and won the Wonderland Girl’s bracket championship. Mya Pauldo won tournament MVP.
