The battle of two storied NC public schools started out hot, with both teams scoring early and often. Farmville Central used a balanced effort to take an 18-15 lead after the first quarter. The Jaguars signature scrappy defensive style came alive early in the second, being physical in the paint and forcing bad shots or free throws. The FC lead grew to six early in the quarter and Millbrook spent the remainder of the half working to close the gap. The Wildcats briefly took the lead but Farmville Central ultimately went into the half up 34-28. Farmville was led by Jah Short with 9 and Jayden Pitt and JD Daniels with 8. Millbrook's Jayan Walker also had 9 at the break.

In the second half, Farmville kept Millbrook at arm's length, holding a consistent two-possession lead throughout the game. A small Jaguar run gave them a 55-47 lead after three. They stretched the lead out to as much as 18 and that would be enough to hold on as Farmville Central prevailed to win 76-64.
