In the most anticipated game of the day, two national powers faced off in Combine Academy and Prolific Prep. Combine blew out Greenfield School in their opening-round game yesterday and Prolific Prep had a similar result against Cannon School. They action did not disappoint, starting early with a balanced Combine attack in the first quarter. A Collin Tanner three at the buzzer made it 20-16 in favor of Combine after one. The Crew opened the second on a 10-1 run and used that momentum to stretch out a 10-point lead. Auburn commit and Charlotte native Aden Holloway was electric in the second quarter, getting to the rim and hitting shots off the dribble including a step back three with time expiring to put Prolific up 38-26 at the half. Holloway led all scorers with 14 points at the break, Silas Demary Jr. led Combine with 8. Prolific won the second quarter 22-6.
In the second half, Prolific continued their run of dominance, with Holloway showing why he’s the best player on the floor. A pair of Collin Tanner threes kept the Goats competitive, but they couldn’t stop the bleeding long enough to mount a comeback. 2026 Tyran Stokes of Prolific had a handful of dunks in the quarter and the lead had grown to 19 with 3 minutes left in the period. A small run from Combine cut the deficit to 15 at the end of the quarter, with a score of 59-44. The Goats started the fourth quarter strong, with nine quick points from Silas Demary Jr. The lead got down as low as 10 before Prolific finally pulled away. The final score was 81-69 in favor of Prolific Prep.
