Player: JJ Sati-Grier
Class: 2028
School: Charlotte Performance Institute

Phenom Hoops has seen a lot of impressive freshmen this season, as the Class of 2028 is shaping up to be a special one here in North Carolina.  At the Well Invitational this past weekend, presented by Underrated Athletes, we had another opportunity to watch a rising point guard in 2028 JJ Sati-Grier.

The freshman point guard has been a known name for some time now, as he continues to prove to be a show on the court. He gives you that “wow” factor with his game and what is even more impressive is when you learn he is just starting his high school journey. Even as a freshman, you don’t see too many guards with the handles, the comfort level, and the playmaking ability that Sati-Grier offers on the court. His ability as a playmaker and facilitator is quite impressive, as he has the ball on a string, is incredibly quick with his change of direction and change of speed, and his handles are unbelievable as he makes it look so easy. Sati-Grier sees the floor extremely well and has an unselfish mindset. He can create and attack the defense and find his teammates open from the perimeter or in other areas of the court for easy baskets.

The young guard is at his best with the ball in his hands, as he simply makes everyone else around him better and the offense flows extremely well. His ability to penetrate and create keeps the defense guessing, as he finishes well off the dribble and attack, but also creates open shots for his teammates. Sati-Grier is a special guard and again, he is just starting his story and should only continue to develop his overall game which will make him even more dangerous. But, he has clearly carved his name out as a guard to watch the next few years here in North Carolina.

What Has Been Said:

6’1 2028 JJ Sati-Grier (CPI) will be a national level prospect. Elite handle & vision. Ball on a string. Makes next level reads/passes. Super shifty. Gets wherever he wants. Tough competitor. Gets after it every possession.”

“2028 JJ Sati-Grier has some of the best handles in the state. So crafty and special with his ability to create, not to mention his vision to find open teammates is special. As he continues to develop and add more, watch for him to be one of the top guards in the region.”
