Jarace is a man child! He has a long, powerful frame yet moves with fluidity displaying excellent footwork and agility and impressive mobility for a player so young at his size. Speaking of feet, he wears a size 16 shoe! Jarace has explosive leaping ability, elite athleticism, is nimble in traffic, and possesses excellent body control; a tremendous physical profile and a very skilled player. Jarace can pound opponents around the rim and can dunk everything! He has great hands and is a punishing finisher while also demonstrating some crafty finishing moves and a soft touch both around the rim and on his mid range jumper. He is able to get to the rim with the dribble displaying a good handle and a sufficient inventory of dribble moves including the crossover, between the legs and even uses a spin move to elude defenders and score attacking the basket. It’s incredible watching a player so young at his size slashing to the rim in such a graceful manner often finishing with rim rocking results! He can throw down a windmill or a two hand slam with ease as he elevates powerfully with seemingly little effort and extends his long wingspan skyward rendering defenders helpless to his overpowering assault on the rim. He shrugs off contact as if it didn’t happen. He is truly a special talent yes because of his physical prowess, but largely because of his sound skills and versatility. Jarace attacks the rim as a threat to also distribute the basketball demonstrating good passing skills, the ability to make the right decision and find the open man and his handle is pretty solid. He can use his dribble to penetrate and find the open man and for being such a dominant scorer is a willing passer, seems to enjoy the occasional opportunity to facilitate and set a teammate up for a scoring opportunity. He can pull up and hit the jumper off the dribble and can also hit the three stepping into his dribble beyond the arc. In a recent event I watched him execute comfortably a crossover dribble move and baseline drive finishing it off with a step back jumper. I also saw him catch the ball in the mid block and skillfully score with a jump hook; there is literally nothing he can’t do on the court! Jarace is able to go coast to coast with the dribble showing a degree of shiftiness as he navigates his way through traffic capably and score or pass to an open man. His decision making with the ball is sound, he is aggressive and under control, decisive with his attack moves. Has variety in his offensive inventory and executes seamlessly. He is equally impressive defensively pounding the glass with quick elevation and repeat jumping ability. He blocked shots again demonstrating his explosive elevation and quickness moving to the ball. Has excellent basketball instincts and anticipates well allowing him to impact games on the defensive end. He has ample lateral quickness and is able to step out and defend the dribble quite well. Jarace’s sister, Jaden is a standout basketball player at Susquehannock and has accepted a basketball scholarship to St. Joseph’s University. Jarace currently holds a Howard offer and has interest from such schools as Syracuse University and is undoubtedly a high major prospect.
