6’6” 2019 Mike Christmas
Landstown High School (VA)
James Madison Commit
Christmas came into this event as a committed senior. He had all four James Madison coaches sitting baseline, watching and rightfully so. With the amount of high major and mid major coaches in the stands, they had to protect their commitment. Christmas did everything during the day, scoring the ball at every level. He has a soft jump shot with deep range as well as the ability to attack the basket off the bounce. He has a strong frame with good athleticism to finish at the rim and through contact. Christmas has the look of an instant impact guy for James Madison and an eventual All-Conference type player.
6’3” 2021 Carson McCorkle
Greensboro Day
Virginia Commit
McCorkle is a newly minted 5-star in the 2021 class, fresh off his run with Team USA in the FIBA World 3-on-3 Games. McCorkle showcased an elite ability to score the ball. He has an incredibly fundamental feel for the game with the ability to create his own shot at a moment’s notice. McCorkle has deep range and a quick release, but what really sets him apart is his footwork and the knowledge of his own game. He knows his kill spots and he knows how to get to them efficiently. McCorkle is an early UVa commit, as they had a coach front and center at each of his games.
6’8” 2019 Josh Hall
Moravian Prep Varsity
Hall has long been a talked about prospect. He currently carries 15 or so offers, so it is not like he is unknown. However, what is unknown is who he will be in college. Hall has an incredibly projectable body and frame. Albeit he is very slender, he has incredibly length and ball skills to go with great explosion. He shot the ball very well on this day, starting off knocking down 5 threes in his first game. He closed the day, shutting the gym down with a high-flying aerial display. He is the type of player who local mid to high majors pass on and he goes to that level out of area and really shows out (it is a tale we have seen many times here in North Carolina).
6’2” 2019 Jackson Gabriel
Lincoln Charter
Lees McRae Commit
Gabriel should break North Carolina’s all-time 3-pointers made record this season. So the fact he lit up the score board this weekend should not come as a surprise to anyone. In his team’s three games, Gabriel made 7, 7 and 8 threes (22 total). He was playing confidently and really working hard off the ball to find his space. Gabriel has a quick release and is an absolute weapon in any setting. With other shoots spreading the floor and quick on quick guards touching the paint, Gabriel will continue to get looks and he should continue to knock them in. It is one of those things you know is coming and will really struggle to stop it.
6’6” Post Grad Christian Wells
Washington Prep – Gold
Wells was able to do anything he wanted on the floor. The lefty knocked down 3s off the catch but was at his best getting downhill, off the bounce. Looking at his strongly built frame with explosion and long arms it makes total sense that his father is Bonzi Wells, his game and frame is so similar. The Indiana native is one who should start to see a lot of offers coming his way. They way he plays fits the modern game like a glove.
