Several players in the Class of 2026 are catching the eyes of many with their play, as it is shaping up to be a loaded class here in North Carolina. Some players have passed others as far as development and potential, and then there are others that we are still waiting to see how they turn out. No matter where they fall, this is a very intriguing class.

One player that seems to be trending in the right direction is 2026 6’6 Michael Phillips with Grace Christian. If you haven’t seen it in the past with Phenom Hoops, Phillips is one that we have been high on for some time now, and have seen the potential in his game. With his length and potential, it seemed like it was just a matter of time before it all came together.

Article: 2026 6’5 Michael Phillips II could be next one up

It has been a steady development for this young man but when you watch his game, you can see that this was a prospect with untapped potential. It seemed like it was just a matter of time until we saw his game come all together. When talking about Phillips’ game, his blend of athleticism, size at 6’6, impact on both sides of the floor, his shot-making, and again his potential make him a very unique prospect with a blossoming skillset that sets him apart.

And that was on full display at the NCISAA LIVE Period where he averaged 22 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks for Grace Chrisitan, which included a 33-point showing in which he hit seven 3-pointers.

His game is really starting to take off, showing more of his full potential; but the scary thing is that I believe there is still MORE untapped left in his game.  But from what many have been seeing, Phillips could be trending into Top-100 territory in his class, and we can only believe that more schools will be involved.

Right now, he holds offers from Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, LSU, West Virginia, High Point, and Mississippi State.
