Rozier, Graham lead the charge for Charlotte
The two combined for 46 of the 85 total shot attempts for the Hornets, with Terry Rozier going for 29 points (11-for-24 from the floor) and Devonte Graham finishing with 22 points (7-for-22). Outside of them though, the other starters combined for 15 total points between Miles Bridges, Bismack Biyombo, and Nic Batum.
Rozier has now scored 35 points and 29 points in back-to-back games, leading the Hornets in scoring in both.
Hornets’ bench plays well
Charlotte’s bench outscored the Jazz’s bench 41-26, as three players finished in double figures for the Hornets. Cody Zeller nearly had a double-double with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Cody Martin finished with 11 and Monk had 10.
Second-half struggles doom Hornets in the end
Leading by as many as 12 points, Utah found their rhythm offensive in the second half, outscoring Charlotte 58-43. Utah shot 51 percent from the floor compared to 32.5 percent for Charlotte. The Jazz also shot 10-for-20 from three, with the Hornets struggling from the perimeter in the second half (3-for-14).
Charlotte’s defense can’t create scoring opportunities
The Hornets did a solid job in creating turnovers, turning Utah over 21 times compared to only 14 for Charlotte. However, Utah’s ability to capitalize on turnovers certainly helped in the win. Utah held a 24-16 advantage in points off turnovers to help secure the 7-point win.
