High School Season Starting Off:
“This season has been good so far; we started with a little adversity and a tough loss to Peoria, but our team is coming together. We’re building chemistry and hopefully, we can get our players both recovered and healthy.”
“My mindset is to improve in all categories, especially being a leader towards my teammates and vocal. With me doing the little things I think that could take me a long way and leave my team to a state championship, which is the main goal.”
Recruitment Update:
A player that I believe will be regarded as one of the premier guard talents in the country, several big-time schools are looking to enter the mix early rather than later. Thompson started off strong, earning some impressive offers early on from Washington, Illinois, and others. But this year alone, he has earned offers from Michigan, Wake Forest, Tennessee, and most recently Indiana and DePaul.
“My recruitment has been going well so far,” Thompson told Phenom Hoops. “I’ve picked up recent offers from DePaul and Indiana while garnering interest from other schools.
They are both close to home and great schools with great programs,” Thompson continued about Indiana and DePaul. “What stands out with DePaul is the pace and tempo that they play with in practice and their coaching staff are great people. Indiana fans are crazy; the atmosphere is big-time, and facilities and the campus are nice. The coaching staff are also great human beings.”
He also has been receiving interest from Michigan State and Oklahoma, and his coaches have been in talks with schools like UMass, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, and UConn.
