Well look where we are in college basketball, as we are getting underway in conference play.  It is still early and there is plenty of time for everything to come into place, but fans of the ACC have to be taking a look at a few teams early on, one being Clemson.

The Tigers are off to their best start in the ACC since 1996-97 after their win against Virginia Tech, and when you dive into the box score, it has been clear who has been the leader for Clemson this season.' Senior Hunter Tyson has been a known name with the program with this being his fifth year there.' But he is saving his best for last, as Tyson is having an exceptional year in averaging 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and shooting nearly 47 percent from the floor.

Tyson has been a double-double machine and honestly, one of the most surprising players early in the season but it also has been a recipe for success.' Through 15 games, he is putting up career-numbers in nearly all categories:

34.7 minutes per game
46.9 FG percentage
89.0 FT percentage
10.0 rebounds per game
1.9 assists per game
15.5 points per game

And when you dive even more into the analytics with KenPom (Click Here), you can see just how important Tyson has been for Clemson. In conference play so far, Tyson ranks:

1st in minute percentage
3rd in offensive rating
7th in eFG percentage
1st in defensive rebound percentage

And brings all of this without committing many fouls. Tyson has been off the charts and is playing his best basketball in his final season for the Tigers; and right now, it has been a recipe for success as Clemson is flying high early on.
