The first game of our Hoopstate Championship bracket took place between Liberty Heights National and NC GBB. Things kicked off in favor of Liberty Heights, as they struck first, dug deep on both ends of the floor, and did a great job of extending their lead prior to the end of the first quarter'where Liberty Heights led 21-10 over NC GBB. The Cardinal continued their hot start, rattling off 14 straight points to start the second quarter, and maintained a comfortable double-digit lead behind their balanced approach. Liberty Heights entered halftime with a 46-18 lead. Although NC GBB definitely showed more resiliency and an improved sense of urgency, Liberty Heights maintained their distance and finished the third period with a 68-27 advantage. The final period was more competitive, but it still wasn't enough to uproot Liberty Heights from the driver's seat. They secured an 83-47 victory over NC GBB.
